Wearable Arts

We have been learning all about design on our way to create our wearable art garment. We started with some challenges…
1. In teams create and build the tallest tower
Our tower is the tallest, but we didn't finish in time.
We worked together; sharing ideas and elping each other. We have learned that it is really important to design and plan our creations before we start. This means we all know what we are trying to make.
2. Build a shelter for Leo our class bear

We learned that it can be very tricky to work in groups and we all have to take turns.
3. Work together to create a costume for 1 member of our team to model. 
Here we are in our costumes!
We remembered that it is important to design our work before we start. We also learned that we have to be careful with our materials, newspaper and tinfoil rip quiet easily.

We are going to use what we have learned to create our wearable arts garment.

Reflection

My favourite part was: doing the dance on stage.

It was really hard when: I had to learn the dance.

Something that really helped me was: my dad helped me make my bat wings and my mum made my  bat hat

Something new I learned was: that it's not a costume. You have to make it.

Fantastic learning about what is wearable art Isaac - it is something you have to make. You wanted to make a garment to share your ideas about bats and looked closely at the images to help. You did some great independent learning here - creating your plan by yourself and then explaining it to Deb.
I bet you enjoyed making your garments with mum and dad.
I am glad you enjoyed dancing in stage - what a great way to share all your hard work!

Buddy Time Te Reo

We are learning the body parts in Te Reo with our buddies. We have worked hard to create a poster to show our learning.

Success Criteria:
I have at least 6 body parts clearly labeled on my poster
I have the English and Māori words on my poster
I can sing a simple waiata (song) in Te Reo Māori about the parts of the body

Reflection

My favourite part was: that you get to make it

It was really hard when: to get every thing right

Something that really helped me was: Kerri because she told us first

Something new I learned was: the name of my tummy

Pic collage is a fun app to use and you and Sam worked together to create a great clear poster and then Deb helped you create another one. What a lot of practise you have had this term! Keep on practising the 'head and shoulders' song so you can sing it loud - it will help you remember more of the body parts in Te Reo.
