Reflection

Getting my mouth ready for the first sound helps me because: I know the word

It was really hard when: I have to read like talking

Something that really helped me was: playing race the pen with Julie

Kerri Thinks
Race the pen has helped you to read fast and your reading is really starting to sound like talking! It is tricky when you don't know the words so using the pictures and getting your mouth ready for the first sound helps you to work them out. When you keep on practising and read your stories lots of times, your reading is more fluent (it sounds like talking).

Reflection

I really like: reading lots and lots of books.

I think I need to practice: using a big voice.

Something that really helped me was: reading lots of books.

You point to the words as you read and you use the pictures to help you work out what the story is about and what those tricky new words are. What a great idea Isaac, I think you need to practise reading in a big voice too! A big voice will help me to hear you better.

Reflection

I really like: Reading Digger books and pirate books.

I think I need to practice: Reading books from my book box.

Isaac, during read to self you get started straight away and you stay in one place. Remember there are 3 ways to read a book and you can read the pictures of the tricky books. Reading books from your book box will help you practise your new words and build your fluency.
